January the Second 2014

Holidays, Sims, Sherlock and ADHD

So as those who live in Australia might know I am currently on holidays –summer holidays to be specific.  They end sometime in February but I can’t remember what date.. Anyway, so far these holidays [which for me began on the 16th of November] I’ve mostly just been doing... Nothing.  I’ve read a few books, watched some movies, bought a hell of a lot of books and set this blog up.  But other than that they’ve been rather uneventful.  Unfortunately it looks like the rest of my holidays will be just as uneventful.  Why?  Because the other day my brother re-installed The Sims 3 and all the expansion and stuff packs we own onto a new computer that is designed for games.  What does this mean?  Well I’m probably going to fail grade 12 and loose whatever social life I’ve managed to create this last year... Am I worried?  Hell no, I have Sims!

Now ever since I was 10 I’ve been obsessed with The Sims... I played The Sims 2 and had all the stuff and expansion packs.  When we moved to Tasmania we left our old computers in WA thinking The Sims 2 would work on our new laptops.  It didn’t.  So my mum went out and started buying The Sims 3 for us, unfortunately our laptops couldn’t handle that amount of data and they all started to die.... Anyway, so this Simmer has been without Sims for over two years.  The only reason I’m not playing currently is because my brother is checking out the last EP, Into The Future.  He’s much more into the science and simbot and plantsim side of Sims whereas I’m more into legacy Sims.. Anyway so yeah..

What have I been doing today?  Well I was reading a book called Finding Sky but I can’t remember the authors name, anyway, I was reading that until five this morning.  After that I fell asleep and I woke up at three in the afternoon.  So I haven’t really done much.... Mostly Sims... I already have a family but we just got our stuff and expansion packs back from Cookie so I want to create a new family so I can take full advantage of all the features.

In other news, Sherlock Season Three premiers today... I want to watch it like you wouldn’t believe but I’m scared because I’ve waited so long and it’s not that I expect to be disappointed but I don’t know.. I’m just scared, like I am to read Allegiant by Veronica Roth.. Even though I don’t know what happens in Sherlock.. That doesn’t make much sense...

Also, last night I saw a video on jacksgap.com by a boy called Josh about ADHD and how the medications prescribed to ‘help’ interfere with our emotions and personality.  I’ve never really been able to explain it to my friends or even family what it’s like but Josh captures it perfectly and explains it in such a clear simple way.  I posted it here so go check it out.

Live long and prosper, godspeed.
